Dear Tomas thank you so mych for your kind and fast reply. I talked with my professor and I cannot send the data matrices I was working on. However, today I had a chat with another student and she told me she did not have any problems with opening the file into excel. I was working onto Excel 2003 and 2007, while she is working with 2010 version. Maybe that can be the problem. I have also tried different operating systems' (Mac OSX, Windows Xp and Win 7) and different dataset and dataformats (netCdf and mzXML) without having success. I'll try with Office 2010 and let you know about it.
