Thanks for the reply. I tried my IT guy, who told me to contact you! I will
continue to try getting it to work properly. Otherwise, thanks for creating a
great program that's a nice alternative to the Agilent software we have here.
best regards,
Nicola

Hi Nicola,

Hello again - I have finally got some of the online identification working for
my MZmine files. These are LipidMaps and PlantCyc. However, I am still not able
to access and search CHEMSPIDER - it gives the error
<java.netsockettimeout exception: read timed out <AxisFault.java: 101>

Also, when I queue up a METLIN search, it seems to start the process just fine
- it says "starting processing of task: ID of peaks using METLIN database" in
the dos box window. But then it doesn't do anything. So I'm not sure how to get
these to work properly. I am using a computer behind a proxy server.

I suppose you set the proxy in MZmine preferences. Anyway, the connection
through proxy seems to be working fine for you, since you could access the
LipidMaps and PlantCyc databases.

I think the problem seems to be that apache axis is not configured properly,
but i'm not sure how to do that. Would that cause these problems?

Possibly, but I'm not sure how to solve this either.

Tomcat seems to be running and so does apache 2. are there executables I need
to copy into libraries?

Where did tomcat or apache 2 come from? You don't need any of these for MZmine.

Or editing of code? I am not a tech head, so please guide me through the
process if I do need to do any code editing etc.

There are no tech heads in the University of Cape Town?
Try asking your IT staff.

Cheers,

Tomas
