Ok, I have to chime in here.
I also own a graphics business and yes, the magnets can and will
scratch the surface of the paint. The problem is that road dirt
collects around the edges and will scratch. Also, most people don't
but, you have to take them off and wash them and the car surface
weekly to properly care for them and your car. Next, you will get UV
fade of your paint around the magnets if left on in the same location
for extended time. Last but certainly the most important. Be very
wary of "Cheap" magnet deals. Some of the "cheap" products will
actually adhere to the surface of your paint. Not fun to get off and
I would not want a client sporting any magnets for me that I might be
responsible for the car.

Now, here is an alternative............window clings. You can get
custom size and printed window clings (not window decals) that will
stick to the glass then just peel off. Safe for the glass, easy to
remove, better option. We make both magnets which have their place on
some commercial vehicles as well as decals and clings.

I think the idea is great for advertising your business and asking
clients to sport your ad for a discount but don't get yourself into a
liability issue or lose a client because a magnet damaged a Beamer,
Mercedes or Escalade.
