Hi Lynette,
I have had a few new clients come in after getting this service done. I
have been seeing this as far back as 7 years ago. This product is what they
call HOJA. I am sure that it is not the right spelling because I have been
searching for it for a long time. You are right though, there is no way to
soak it off. It has to be filed off. They also use this over acrylic to seal
it. I have seen a months growth with no lift and the nails look perfect
except for the new growth. The clients tell me that they pay $75 to $100 for
a
full set of P&W. If anyone knows anything about this product, can you please
let me know,  thanks  Maggie

I acquired another chop shop client who told me she had gel on her nails. We
all know it is MMA---BUT-- there IS some type of gel they are using over the
top of the polish that does NOT come off with acetone. I had to use my
electric file. Does anyone know what this is? She told me she paid $10 more
for
this.
She also told me that they have been doing this Zoya trick at this salon for
a long time. HUH???? But not with Zoya.......
Anyway, I want to know what they are putting on top of the polish that is a
gel and keeps it from chipping at all....
buenos dias,
Lynnette
PS-- Lisa, you are not asking anything that is out of the ordinary.

Yes and what an array of color possibilities out there, I have over 200
different polishes, I cannot afford to buy that array of gel polishes, if
this
can work and save me money, ( even better, to make me money), then it is
well worth a try.

Hi Lisa,
I've tried the method with polishing the natural nails and then overlaying
it w/gel, it has not worked. It chips, pits and the gel shrinks on the
polish...
That's my experience. I haven't tried the method where you mix the polish
into the gel+then apply it on the natural nails-but it seems to be working for
our networking friends, can't wait to try it! It would be an ideal gel
method, even though there are lots of color gels in the
industry; however, this way, you can use the clients favorite color.

Are you guys talking about using this polish/gel mixture over natural nails
or acrylics? And I don't want to sound stupid here, I am a new nail tech,
but why do you have to mix it? Can't you just polish the nail and then apply
the gel over top, then cure? Please be gentle with you remarks.

I finally did mine this afternoon. Turned out great so far. Will see how
they do through the torture I put them through. I used Zoya- Tess and clear
T-3 fibergel. Very
pretty!!!

I don't file them. After the last coat has cured, I seal them with a
tackless sealer I got from Nailite (I love that stuff!!!) do cuticle oil and
go.

when you do this do you just apply like a polish and cure 2 min. between
coats then do you have to file then seal or just apply and go after all
curing
is complete?

It wasn't scientific at all. I just kept mixing in the polish until I
thought it was dark enough. Sorry.

So Kim, what was the ratio you used for the polish/gel and how much quantity
did you end up with to get adequate coverage? Debbie W. -----Original

Hi Kim, Did you mix the polish in the gel+then put 4 coats of gel on
nails? Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry From: Kim Tobin
