oooo.... I just had an idea... what if you use a non-soakable gel as the base, then mix your polish w/ soakable gel. Then when the client wants a color change you can just soak it off and start over.Michelle Phoenix, Proprietor Wet Paint Nail Spa 141 Huron Avenue Cambridge, MA 02138 617.868.0620 www.wetpaintnailspa.com

IF IF IF the color YOU create is a completely opaque color...yes the light would have trouble penetrating and yes could leave uncured gel. So as a tech you have to be aware of this. Here is where I disagree...if the color is transparent...which in a 60 clear gel 40 polish split WILL have transparency the light will penetrate the nail and cure it through and through. Now I don't have a PHD but my job here at Star is Research and Development as well as Quality Control. I am on the phone daily with my chemist. I'm a chem NERD. And an expert with table experience! How many times have manufacturers said, "you can't do XXX" when we all know you can. "don't mix acrylic liquid with another company's powder" the nail won't explode! You just won't get the best possible chemical make up. Of course I want you to buy My liquid and My powder.BE 100% sure of three things and you should be ok: Light can penetrate your mix, your using 9 watt bulbs and they are not WEAK or OLD bulbs. Lastly...do a clear coat over the entire nail prior to your color layer. This will make color change easy as you'll only need to file down to your clear layer and not down to the natural nail.:) Elaine On Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 5:59 AM, Tammy Warner <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: This is the thread that was going on the forum and a couple replies that Paul Bryson had written.. http://www.beautytech.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=194063#194063Tammy WarnerThe High Road to Educationwww.thehrte.com-- Elaine T.
