Wow, Lynnette,
I feel for you. About 7 1/2 years ago to the day almost, I made my way to
my "real and trusted" dermatologist. After seeing my regular doctor and a
derm that I knew wouldn't help me, hoping it was a bad dream and would all go
away, I finally went to see the top gun.

He explained to me that every time an irritant/allergen comes in contact
with an open wound/sore that we have a 1000 times greater chance for
irritation
and sometimes even a severe allergy....this was my case. The only way to
know is to be tested with your products to see which are causing the
irritation/allergy, mine was acrylic monomer and powder as well as just about
any gel
that I had in the salon. This was a costly and time consuming procedure and I
cried all the way home as I was told.....STOP using this stuff. I can't even
be near it, I am now a Natural Nail Care Professional. I even developed a
horrible allergy to latex as a result of putting them on top of all of my open
wounds, he sad this too is also common. As much as I miss the creativity of
enhancements, I cannot be in pain continuously. He also explained to me
that all of the wounds/lesions I encountered during my horrific episodes would
be extremely prone to eczema and even though I am not using the culprits, the
cold weather, stress, both mental and physical, and excessive water usage (oh
so sad I can't do dishes anymore.....even the rubber gloves have latex in
them :() have thrown me into full blown attacks. When the attacks are really
bad I use a cortisone tape that I cut and place over the effected area, when I
see a slight flair up.....Eucerin, Intensive Repair Lotion is all that will
help.

I feel for you and hope that you find some relief as I know what you are
going through....may you and your family have a happy and healthy holiday
season.

Maggie,
Thanks for that tip, but the second I put my hands in water the rash turns
into what looks liek hives. They swell and turn beet red.
I did buy mineral oil last week and was using that on my hands, but it did
not help at all.
I am grateful for all of you who are sending tips to help.
Pati, I went to Wal-Mart last night and bought the stocking stuffer type
gloves- 2 pair for $1 I think. I wore one to bed last night. Applied the
Diprolene and slathered Eucerin and this morning it was feeling a little bit
better.
Thanks for that info--I will check it out.
My eczema does get to the point of cracking and bleeding. The one side of my
hand looks like someone took a razor and sliced me. THAT is a good cut.
Usually they bleed from all the cracks.
I am sure that the product is aggravating it, but I know it is not the cause
of it.
Today I am going to wrap the area in saran wrap and wear the cotton glove to
do my clients. Even if I wear just the glove, the powders from filing will
get t\hrough. I think it is spreading becuause I was wearing
plastic/vinyl/latex gloves. Sheesh, I just cannot win. And I have my trusty
bottle of liquid
Benadryl!!!
I really appreciate all your help!
buenos dias,
Lynnette
