The PS (plastic surgeon) makes about a 5inch incision on my back...over the lattitimus dorsi muscleand then he will take skin and muscle and "tunnel" it into my left breast where he has reopened about 1/2 the old incision.OK picture your pants too tight and you add material to the seam....got it now? LOL! the reason he tunnels it is because it is vascular and you don't want it to die.... Because the breast was radiated it no longer can stretch and actually will continually shrink and get firmer and tighter and harder.....so the PS said it would be more comfortable for me afterwards. OK comfort i can do.....he will also tweak a few other things ...i told him while I was under I need an oil change and tune-up! He will inject one of my scars (for my port) with, I think, cortisone....I heard this is a painful shot so i figured he should do it while I am "out". He will also remove 2 or 3 moles i have on my upper back...i figured he was right there...why not? I will get all the painful stuff over with at once!
