What gel system are you using? I am a gel user, and always am trying
different systems, and I have recently tried Brisa, and its not working for
me. I normally use Starnails T3 fiber gel, love love love it, applies great,
holds great, and I normally use Bond Ex2, but have started using YN's
protein bond instead, its acid free. So let us know what you are using.

Hi Everybody: it has been awhile since I have been able to post!
I finally opened my salon, The Nail Station, in Dawsonville, GA., on November
4, 2008. I named it "The Nail Station" because the building is a renovated old
PURE Gas Station. It was originally built in the 20's and was the first
all-night gas station in the country. It is also the birthplace of NASCAR,
since many of your early winning drivers came from Dawsonville, GA.

I would like to thank everyone who has called and also who sent me polish and
some supplies! It was very much appreciated. I will start my "abused women's
shelter" program in two weeks. I am very excited to help these people!

I am having a tough time, like everybody else, with a very slow clientele. I
am averaging about 1 client a day, maybe. The good thing is that there is a
slew of NSS about 10 miles east of me, but no other salons within twenty miles
in the other directions!! I am "on the square" in the downtown area (also
historic section), whereas the others are on the main highway. I need
advertising advice as well. I have NO money, my home rent is 2 months behind
and my car needs a tune up bad. (Sorry, had to vent)

Well, here's the thing....I AM NOT GIVING UP!! I love what I do (although I
am not experienced enough, only out of school 1-1/2 yrs) and I don't care that
it is slow! If my home landlord (God Bless him, he supports me 100% in this
venture), will let me and my daughter stay at in our home, I know I can make a
go of my salon in town. The salon is so pretty and homey....its like walking
into your home. Your pedicure is done on a chaise lounge, and you get to
listen to Il Divo (great looking/sounding guys!), and I pamper them to sleep
every time!! I know I am going to make it......

Besides mani/pedi's, I only do gels! The problem: they fall off or the tip
cracks or the gel cracks....can't figure it out!! I prep correctly: clean the
nail plate completely-getting rid of any skin/cuticle, I remove the shine, I
remove the dust, I alchol the nail, I apply the white tips (yes, ABS plastic),
I prime the natural nail, wait til it gets chalky. I apply the gel (2-3
layers), I smooth out if there are any bumbs, etc. and add gel topcoat. I cure
everything for 3 minutes each layer! The next day or a couple of days later
the nails chip off, or come off completely. I am exasperated!! and frustrated!
and I have lost those clients ---- damn! I need help! I have called an
educator that is about 20 miles from me, but she said she is too busy, but
would keep me in mind. I appreciate that, but I need help now. I am going to
my first class in THE SMOKIES, but that is not until June! Just cannot find
any classes here in Georgia, or anyone that may be able to
 mentor me....
