For some reason my bulbs fit just fine, but I also do not use the Brisa gels, I use other ones but I had the lamp and bought another one so that I can do two hands at a time. The Brisa just doesn't work for me, most clients and myself that I used it on, peeled completely off in just a couple days, or it chipped badly. None of the other systems did that for me. As for the bulbs, I am still using the ones that came with the lamp. Have not had to change them yet, but I did try one of the others to see if it fit and it does fit perfectly, I just tried right now to make sure, and yep it fits great. Probably just the company saying that so that they can sell their bulbs for a ridiculous price.

Other 9 watt bulbs don't fit. The receptacle is turned 90 degrees so that if you try to put a regular bulb in the Brisa lamp, the bulb won't lie horizontal against the ceiling of the lamp. There is not enough clearance. Did that totally confuse you? I think I am confused. But seriously, they are not interchangeable. There is a reason. The gel was apparently developed for use with this particular bulb. And I don't know what the difference is in the light emission! Marsha McDonald Rubino GIMME NAILS 37 Fifth St. E. I got mine through either Nailiteinc or Premier nail source for about 6.95 each. Brisa makes only regular gel. I took the OPI Axxium class a month ago.....it is a regular gel class, but they demo'd the soak off gel. And I bought one of the soak off gel polish kits. I am a Brisa user and have been using it since 2003. It works great for me. The only drawback, IMO, is the light. It works fine, but the replacement bulbs are $50.!!! I don't want to risk service breakdown if I use a regular tunnel lamp! There are lots of gels available. See how you like working with the Axxium and remember.....it's not easy to learn and master! That learning curve is there not matter what brand you use. When I started out, I was in a situation like you....no mentors.....I also found this group and have been here ever since! Good luck and keep up the search for information!! Marsha McDonald Rubino GIMME NAILS 37 Fifth St. E. Is OPI a regular gel system? Do you like it? I am taking a class next month on the OPI and not sure if I should get that or the Brisa. I think I am also going to get a soakable too just to play around with. I am so grateful for this group. I am the only nail tech in a natural only nail salon so finding information or asking other nail techs is a problem for me. And the 2nd job I am getting doing gels at another salon, again I will be the only nail tech. I don't think Brisa has come out with soakables. I am anxious to try the Nailite. All I have now is OPI! Marsha McDonald Rubino GIMME NAILS 37 Fifth St. E. This was truly helpful to me. I only have one more question. What is brand is everyone using for the soakables? I went to the beauty supply store and asked if the Brisa was regular or soakable and they looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language. They had NO idea what I was talking about.
