Hi Rox! I am old school... so here is what I do... 1. Cell phone... I keep mine on vibrate in my top drawer. So if I can answer it, I do; but if I can't it doesn't annoy the crap out of anyone! My voicemail says " Hi, you have reached the voicemail of Michelle Cordes, nail technician at Steel Magnolias Salon. I am with a client or out of the salon right now, but if you could leave me a message I'll get back to you when I have my appointment book handy! Thanks, and have a great day!" My friends just leave a message like usual... LOL. 2. I keep an appointment book. A good 'ol fashioned professional appointment book (Dayminder) from Staples or Office Depot. I have tried a palm pilot or blackberry, but I really like to see my week laid out before me... makes it easier for me to see where to squeeze someone in at or what is available when they need to move.... Sometimes I leave my book at the salon in case someone wants to book something for me, or I just want to have a day where I am unavailable to clients. (We get those every once in awhile, ya know?!?) Good luck... you'll like renting... it's very stressful at first, but worth it in the long run!!

To: [email protected] Date: Tuesday, March 31, 2009, 5:35 AM I'm moving to a new salon next week. Since this is a booth rental I'll be booking my own appointments. For those who do this through their cell phone what is the most efficient/easiest way to handle this. I'll change my voice mail to something like... "if I'm not answering I'm currently with a client or away from my phone... please leave a message and the time you're looking for and I'll get back to you asap"? Something like that? Also, what do you find easiest for appointment recording... on paper in a appointment book... randomly on sticky notes and cocktail napkins... electronically through a blackberry or something similar? Any help is SO very welcome... thank you!! Roxanne --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "NailTech" group.
