I use the traditional and ever so handy sticky notes and cocktail napkins!!!

This system is great if you make a habit of checking your pockets before
throwing them out in the wash! (BIG SMILE)

Seriously, I have a palm Treo phone and with it came an amazing calendar
program that is also linked to my laptop. I can look at my day, week, month
or even year at a glance. I have colour coded all of my appointments, so
when I look at 'green appointments' I know I am looking at clients, pink
appointments are for my daughter, blue appointments for my son. You get my
drift.

I have a Vonage internet phone for my business phone, and I can get the
voicemails via email. These emails get sent to my cell and laptop.

Most of my clients call for appointments but a few of them email me or text
me. Again I answer these from my cell.

My salon is in my home and I discourage clients from calling my house or
coming straight to the door.

Hope this helps.

Subject: NailTech:: Booking Questions....

I'm moving to a new salon next week. Since this is a booth rental I'll be
booking my own appointments.

For those who do this through their cell phone what is the most
efficient/easiest way to handle this.

I'll change my voice mail to something like... "if I'm not answering I'm
currently with a client or away from my phone... please leave a message and
the time you're looking for and I'll get back to you asap"?

Something like that?

Also, what do you find easiest for appointment recording... on paper in a
appointment book... randomly on sticky notes and cocktail napkins...
electronically through a blackberry or something similar?

Any help is SO very welcome... thank you!!
Roxanne
