I do website design, business cards, logo design and a ton of other stuff too. in case anyone doesn't know! Smilz.. But, every single new client I start, even if I think they may be a fly-thru client, I get their contact information and add it to my database of clients. ( I use Outlook and just add them to contacts.) I think I have kept contact info for every client I have ever done. EVER! Haha! Seriously! I have a ton of them. I have them all categorized so I know what town I was working in when I acquired them, and several other break-downs. So I have built mine over the last hundred years or so! Lmaooooo I do not know if purchasing email lists is practical because unless you could purchase one for your area, you will pay money for emails not even in your state and therefore waste a lot of money and time. I would stick to: A. Word-of-mouth advertising: referrals B. Coupon Ads in local papers C. Presenting at local events Stuff like that. But you also have to remember: you are ALWAYS on the clock! Everywhere you go, you should be handing out business cards! At restaurants you eat at, leave cards with the tips. or if when you go to your favorite night club, stick biz cards in the tip jars. hand them out to strangers on the street! Haha! Seriously! Give your business cards to everyone everywhere! That is the least expensive form of advertising and you will be surprised how much more business it gets you than any other form of advertising! Print advertising, I have to say, has NEVER brought me any business! No lie. you would think it would, but it doesn't.. I get all my business from referrals and handing out business cards! And great art on a business card gets lots more attention than just text! So check out my work at my graphics website and my Face Book page! www.gypsycustomgraffex.com <http://www.gypsycustomgraffex.com/> ! Melody C. I'm just starting at a nail salon and don't have any clients so I'm wondering how to go about getting e-mail addresses for potential clients. Is there a way to buy a list?
