I am glad to hear that she had a friend like you to shoo her out to be with
her family.

Dawn, I went through a similar thing when my Grandmother died. I had an
inconsiderate client that didn't want to give up her nail appointment. I had
to cancel her anyway and I ended up missing my Nana before she passed.

That client is still upset with me over cancelling at the last minute.
Unfortunately I am still upset with her over arguing with me for cancelling.

I wish I had someone like you to shoo me out of the salon to be with family.
She is glad to have a friend like you.

Oh Diana,

remindes me of the time my Grandma died. On a Friday night I had to pick my
mom up at the airport that was an hour and a half away get back and sleep a
couple hours and drive another 4hours to Pittsburg before 9am. One of the
ones that needed reschueled for Sat. asked the gal can't she just stay and
do me before she leaves? Which me being in a state just did it. Then I
thought about it and got ticked. I do not see her anymore. She was a book as
ya go every 2-3 wk. When it came time for her to call for booking we just
could not make it fit anywhere. No loss. I don't figure how some people can
be so self focused that they can cause so much more stress to someone.

give your gal my sympathy.for the loss of her father.

Jeez, bad bad night last night. Heather, a top sylist in town, was
there (a friend that I have worked with on and off for about 5
years), a brand new stylist, her first day, and me were the only ones
at the salon last night. Just a slow night because no one was
working, The two of us were slammed with clients, new girl hangin around.

Heather has a couple waiting for her, one sitting in her chair, and
an elderly lady sitting in another chair processing.Thank God, the
client I had was also a client of Heathers.

I hear, but cannot see Heather, talking to someone on the phone,
phrases, like "Oh My Gawd, what happened?" :Do you want me to
come?" "What is wrong? ""Where are you?"
I knew something was wrong, my client knew something was wrong,
jumped up, walked over as she is on the phone, finishing up her
client, and see her shaking. I stand there and wait. Went back and
sat down, and heard her saying more things, then dead silence.

I jump up again, and walk over there, and she has tears going down her
face, she is explaining it is her dad. So I say, "Get out of here,
NOW!" She has 4 clients, no one experienced to take them over, she
says "I can't, I'll finish up." I said, "Get the hell out of here.
we will finish up, let me call your other clients" She just
finished the gal in her chair, getting me numbers to call the rest of
her clients, Thank Gawd, the couple says, "hey, go we can come back".
and she says "no, I can do you guys". The couple look at me, I shake
my head no, and they insist that they are leaving!!!

I am on the phone with her clients, cancelling, and get up to get her
out of there, and she is frigin rinsing the hair of the elderly lady,
tears running down her face.

I say HEATHER, get OUT OF HERE!! She just looks at me, kind of in
shock, not comprehending anything and i frigin leaned over and said
to this lady (who I have never met in my live) "Heather has to leave,
Leslie will finish you". This lady, who I wanted to knock out, just
looked at me and said, well guess that is okay for now, but no cut,
just dry. Okay lady (use that term loosely), don't you get it? What
don't you understand??? Wanted to back slap her.

The new girl did a wonderful job finishing up the old bat, Heather
got out of there, and got to the hospital just in time to talk to her
Dad, and within an hour of the phone call he had died.

The rest of the evening was making phone calls, answering phone
calls, at one time I had the salon phone on one ear, and my cell
phone on the other. Ran an hour behind. Jeez, what a night. But
the frustrations of client that don't care, just drives me up a wall.
Had a tech one time have emergency surgery, and clients were upset
about their nails. Get a life!!!!!!! diana from indiana
