pati, i have to agree with you.  i wouldn't wear gloves if ya paid  me!!  
so, i dont.  and really, the only trouble i have with them is  biting them or 
having them too long for my lifestyle.
 
i go with the consensus that you really should try acrylic.  i think  both 
of you will be pleased.

(The "preserving the tomatoes" part really got me! We  do like 250 jars 
every year! The food processor does the work...we don't  squish them by hand! )
