Hi Angie,

I gave my daughter a pedicure days before her due date, with a wonderful
foot and leg massage. I personally don't have a problem w/ the foot massage
area. How many husband's (those that are sweeties) have given foot massages
to their pregnant wives over the decades, actually have induced labor?
Although, I don't know for sure, but if it was that hazardess, surely the
medical industry would advise against it. I couldn't imagine not having a
foot massage and being pregnant.

JMHO.

Angie,
No one really answered your question. When massaging you want to stay away
from the ankle area, the pressure points there are believed to stimulate
labor. With that said, as the others have stated more than likely you won't
exert enough pressure to stimulate your clients labor.

I wouldn't worry about it. The amount of pressure exerted by your thumb or a
pressure point tool on a very specific spot is different than a nice foot
massage.

If someone had told me that I couldn't have a foot massage when I was
pregnant, I would've cried!!!

I have a friend that is 32 weeks pregnant and has already dropped. The
doctor made her quit working and stay off her feet. She wants a pedi. I
heard there is a spot that you can massage on the feet that can trigger
labor. Since I don't know reflexology do you think I could accidently put
her in labor?
