Angie,
You should look into Masterworks.  Amy Becker was at the Pitts HRTE and gave
a demonstration on how she builds up the apex first.  She has a great DVD that
shows all of her techniques.  I am not sure if she has any tuts on her website,
but I bought her gel sample kit and got the DVD with it.  Here is the link to
here website:  http://www.masterworksinnovations.com/index.htm

Subject: NailTech:: gel brands

I need a new brand of gel to use. I have been trying to master Brisa for a year
now. I have about 6 gel clients now. I am so use to ac that trying to get gel
to do what I want it to do is so frustrating. Fills are ok, but when I have to
overlay or replace a nail I have the hardest time building the apex up. I did a
full set of gels today and just want to throw the gel in the trash and get out
my ac. I watched Gina's tutorial and she has a building gel just for the apex.
Does anyone know the difference between her builder and modeling gel? Which one
should you use to take care of the dip I keep getting at the apex? Any
suggestions would be greatly appriciated. What about Masterworks? I have
been trying to do my homework on these products but would like advise from you
all who have actually used them.
