Lynnette, I see your point on hating to wait for polish to dry BUT... 1 coat dries a heck of a lot faster than the 4 we usually put on! Remember the bottom coats are totally dry already! Thanks for sharing those gel tips... I do not get any shrinkage from OPI either. thanks!

Each client gets one hour with me. Four minutes is not going to save me time if I am doing my clients in that hour. I AM getting much faster with this SO and the tunnel light is helping. No more of the single handed things for me!! LOL. But I want NO wet polish for my SO. That is one of the points I tell my clients. NO drying and you can dig for keys and money with no damage. I HATE polish now!! LOL I love that this does not peel off, whereas the clear top coat does. Well it did on mine! Okay- it was a long day. I wouldn't be a good representative of you guys (working techs) at the company if I took offense to every criticism. I am smart enough to keep an open mind and consider these things as suggestions. For example, we went with an air dry sealer because it saves time. 2 minutes cure per hand = 4 more minutes to cure your UV top Sealer. As a licensed tech that used to own my own business 4 minutes is worth $3.33 of my time. (I used to rate my prices on 50.00 per hour, of course times have changed). My air sealer dries in under a minute. The necessity of the sealer is simply to protect the gel from staining because it is porous. Nothing else. In my two years of testing (before I went public) I tried many things and this did the trick in the least amount of time. As for your french. The Cina Pen is an "alternative" style french for anyone that wants a crisp, correctable smile line. I, personally, hate to see my free edges thicker with french white gel then the rest of the nail. So I've been doing these longer than we've had SOG. It's personal preference. If you don't like it. I highly recommend our white gel. As Elena says, it is definitely more durable. BTW, Sandwiching the white pen under a coat of Clear SOG gel will make it last longer. I think you got a top of the nail version. Just like, you can polish over this gel and do a traditional french if you only want clear SOG for strength but want to stick to your fav polish. I certainly am going to print this whole thread and use it in our meeting. Wish I had it yesterday. We had an entire meeting on the Gels. I will also consider, as an option, a UV Cure Sealer. Then you all can decide if you want to spend the minutes one way or the other. I believe options are fabulous. Lynnette... keep the comments comming. It's the only way we can all learn about what the Pro goes through. I'll never take any of this personally. And, when we make a change because of something you said, I'll give you the kudos and some lovely gifts. LOL OHHH one more thing, because this does keep coming up...instructions (for kits) are INSIDE the box insert. You know the cardboard marketing info. If you pull that out and open it up, the full color instructions are there. BUT I AGREE 100% we had to launch faster than support materials were ready. As you can see by the GAZILLION brands out there....waiting would have hurt us more. I'm about a week or two away from finishing my DVD editing. As soon as they are burned and back from the company I'll get you all to email me your addresses (NOT NOW) and I'll have one mailed out to each of you (beautytechers!!) at no cost. Thanks again, Lynnette. :) Elaine Kind Regards, Elaine T. LOL I will try Rhonda's trick with the next one who uses the Star. **Note to Star gals-- I am not putting your product down--I am just reporting what has been going on with my experience. BTW-- Nudey Patudey is RHE most popular color. Can I send back that awful orange and that 80's pink for a white and a nudey??!!!! LOL--just kidding. Rhonda was right the gel did not shrink on me. So, that is good to know. (Thanks Rhonda!) Also, I wanted to mention that I ordered a sample of the Gelife from Dashing Diva and their top gel is the bomb! I like it much better than OPI. Cures in 2 minutes and it is super shiney...no dulling. JMHO I used it over Nailite SO. You will not have any shrinking and it will cure just fine :o) R On Thu, Apr 8, 2010 at 9:45 AM, <[email protected]> wrote: It is not what is in them, it is the cost. It is NOT cost effective for me. I did see it being shown in the VIP room we passed on Sunday. So, how does one get in the VIP room? I did get to see it along with Kira at LaShaun's salon. I just wanted it on my nails! Likes- goes on beautifully. In a bottle Cures pretty fast High shine CON- the removal pads. Although a great innovative idea, the cost is a turn-off for me. I cannot justify $3 a pack PER client when I only charge $5 more to do my no chip manicures. "Would-be" con- how much is wasted by being in a bottle. Not sure if CND is insisting on using their light, but I already have enough 9 watt lights and do not need another one. Star Nails Soak Off- Pro- pretty inexpensive for 23 colors and a light Ease of application Cons: No gel brush in kit No color chart No SO top coat****this is a very important step if you use SO No directions No white for french polish in deal kit Colors not consistent with labels-so time is wasted opening up for client to choose their color. I have had shrinkage with EVERY single client who has used a Star color. This is such a waste of time for me as I have to keep doing touch ups. On the nail that was done on me at the show: I wanted a French and it was done with a Cina pen. Glorified white out pen. Sorry Star gals-it started to come off in two days. AND- that is probably because of not having a SO top coat and regular top coat was used. One of the main reasons I want a SO for my clients is so that I do NOT have to use regular polish AT ALL. NO drying time!!!! The product started to peel 10 days after application. (I am scared now that my clients are all going to be calling that their product is peeling off!!!) Will write more later, but am getting ready to work!!
