They don't care, its all about the color for them. It's hard to say how many sets. I have yet to use a whole pot of anything. There is a sheer color that I use over a french all the time called pearly pink from Nailite, I bet I have used it 80 times or more and still have a forth of it left. That's only using one coat though.
