Michelle, Amy Becker (Masterworks gels) sells her lights...all blitzed out with glitter etc. they looked very nice...then I thought "I can do that" so I did! Had an old light that was white at one time but had gotten to be a dingy, gel spotted light..that I didn't like to use because it looked old and dirty (it was...) so I spray painted it first..a bronzy color..then brushed on glitter paint...silver, bronze and gold in sort of a pattern ..topped it all with a few coats of spray varnish (clear) looks gorgeous now! Bought a small mirror in Michael's ..beveled on the sides and a glass cutting tool...and cut it to size....(cut edges to the back and side) and place it on the bottom of the light where the palm rests... Of course if anyone tries this...you should take the top off of the base...I did not because there were just too many wires for me to remember where they went....so I covered the vents on top and the switches in the back very carefully with painter's tape.
