Hi Michele,
You're not being pi$$y, you have a concern and wanted to express it. Nothing wrong with that. I don't remember mentioning CND or Shellac. I also don't remember saying our product was the same as anything, in fact I believe I said the chemistry was unique. I also don't remember slamming anyone or being particularly negative. I'm not looking to rumble. But I just can't find any references to any other company or any other product for that matter. Maybe I'm missing something, it wouldn't be the first time. I can be quite slow at times, at least that's what my wife says. Give me a call if you have concerns or send me a strongly worded memo. I know I probably don't rub everyone the right way, but I'm not trying to. To hell with being politically correct. I don't like to hang out with those people any way, always looking to put sunscreen on your nose. And sometimes when I go to get the mail, I don't even wear a seatbelt. I am not going to lie to you and say that everyone is absolutely in love with our products (*cough*they are), but I can tell you with no problems at all that with over 250 products in our line, you will find something you like. Psychologically, you can read between the lines to think that something is directed at a particular idea or in this case product. This has to do with the decisions we have made in our lives regarding that topic. Look at the Mac vs PC thing. If a PC guy says "mice with one button suck", the Mac guy thinks their being attacked, because they choose to use a mouse with only one button. When in reality the guy was talking about his experiences with a 1 button mouse for his PC. If a Mac guy says "I hate Windows", the PC guy thinks he is being attacked. When in reality the Mac guy may have four PC's running linux. He actually loves PC's. You may have found something in my posts that struck a chord with you, good or bad and related it to your past experiences. Someone else may have related it differently, perhaps to something not even in the nail industry. They might be cussing that paint that is buckling on their fence. I do it too, everyone does. It is just the way everyone works. We analyze every new thing, concept or idea and try to make a link to past experience. To tell you the truth, the reason people "rave" about things is because it is a way to validate their decisions. They want you to choose the same thing that they did, because they want their decision validated. They want to be right, so they will try to convince others that their decision is the best. If someone points out a feature that their particular decision doesn't have, it creates an unbalance in the force. They either get angry or Gealous. (did you catch the cleverly hidden subliminal product plug?) Not because their decision was a bad one, but because there is an imbalance in their mind. Anger or Gealousy (J) is a way of balancing out that scale again, but only temporarily. The next time they rave, the anger will go away and everything will be copacetic again. This is only until another raver can convince them that they need to make a switch, either through unarguable debate or overwhelming evidence. Once they switch to the other persons point of view, they will become a raver of the new point and abandon their previous position. The reason I rave about our products is not because of validation. I just need to eat. The reason you won't see a lot of people "raving" about our products is because they just work. There is no need to validate their decision, they know it works. Their decision has been validated through performance. They know it was the best choice they made for their business and frankly, they are pretty busy. Sometimes we don't spontaneously share the experiences of things that work really well. Think about it. Many techs consider Gelousy their "secret weapon" Some of them will even peal the labels off of the bottles so no one else knows what they are using. But you know who raves about our products? Clients. Clients do. I have literally thousands of letters, phone calls and e-mails from clients. Most of them say just about the same thing. If it weren't for Gelousy, they wouldn't get their nails done. My wife, who is a nail tech, had another nail tech book an appointment with her using a fake name, just to see what she was using, because she had all the business in town. I could go on for hours, but I will stop here. (*thunderous applause*) In any case I am at your disposal to answer any questions you may have. I am often at my desk on the weekends and after hours, so call any time. If you get voice mail, leave me a message and I will get back with you asap. Now, who wants to chat about surfactants? I am working on a shampoo for a new brand "Bad Ass Beauty". Catchy huh? Your product isn't the same. Some aspects of it are similar but it's different. Be happy that you have a good product that lots of techs like but there is no need to be negative about other companies and their products. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way because I've received emails from several people who have commented on it too. Perhaps a better name would have been "1-Phase", "1-Unit" or "Amazing 7 Minute Soak Off Polish Replacement That Has Been Out For 6 Years, Is In Stock All The Time And Doesn't Bubble Or Wrinkle And Actually Provides Strength To The Natural Nail That Comes In A Nail Polish Bottle And Costs Less Per Use Then Any Similar Product And Works With 58 Colors Including 8 F/X Colors To Give You Over 300 Color Options". But that is not as catchy.
