I just pinch my brush in a lint-free towel. I always store it with gel in it, never naked. I use brushes with Kolinsky hair, so I never see staining and even if there is some of that dark color in the brush, it is minimal and when you go to use it the next time, your base gel is the first thing you use, so just put a little on the brush, pinch and clean again and you are good to go.
