Hi Debi,
I don't know if anyone has answered you yet. There is regular gel polish that
does not soak off and has to be filed off. It also is applied over gel or
acrylic. I don't like using it over acrylic but some do have good luck with it.
Just not me. Then there is sog (soak off gel). You can use this kind off gel on
the natural nail and soak it off with acetone. You can also use it over your
gels and acrylics, but then you just file it off. Sog is more flexible then the
regular traditional gel. When you use a sog on the natural nail it needs to
be flexible so it can bend or flex with your nail so it does not crack.

It took me quite a long time to understand all the different types of gels. It
can be overwhelming. I learned all about it right here on this list. Hope this
helps.

Subject: NailTech:: gel "polish"

Ladies - What is the difference between an SOG and a gel polish? Does the
polish
on come in colors, ie could you do a french with it on a natural nail? Do you
need to soak off the gel polish and re-apply? OR is the gel polish something
you
use as a gel overlay?

(I know very little about gel and am in the midst of broadening my knowledge,
so
go easy on me)
