No bother at all. Protein bond is a non-acid primer from YN. I probably didn't
need to use it. I was just trying to prevent separation at the free edge. I was
afraid if I applied it all over it would be harder to get off when the time
comes. When I wiped after the base cured I dry wiped with a dry clean gel
brush.
I don't know if I needed to or not but when I used one of the Eco colors it
pulled back at the free edge and sidewalls so bad so I was trying to prevent
that. There was no shrinking with the Shellac. I don't know if it was because I
wiped or if Shellac doesn't do that. I didn't take a lot of time wiping, mainly
concentrating on the free edge. Remember to use your base sparingly or it will
run into the cuticle. I really liked the coverage Shellac has. I have a topcoat
on its way, but still no base. I did get in Gelish today. If you like sparkly
colors they have them. My clients are going to have a blast. And I am broke
now.
I now carry 2 and a half lines of natural gel manicures. The half is for
Shellac! Lol!

Angie, thanks so much for the information.  But, I had some questions on your
method of application.  What is protein bond, why was it only applied to the
free edge, and is it really necessary to dry wipe the ECO Base Coat before
proceeding to Shellac or can I just proceed without wiping and just wipe at the
very end after I have applied and cured the ECO Clear?  Thanks so much and
sorry
to bother you again, Peggy :o)!
