Actually Denise, I've been getting a line thinner than a fine sharpie by using NOT squeezing them and writing with next to nothing on the tip. I too have found the brush thick, but I give it a trim and it works for me the way I want it. But I mostly use them for the pen part.
I have a seasoned liner brush that I dip in the bottle when I want to stripe. I find them very nice. Just goes to show you that two different people can find things two different ways.
