Hi, Ruby! Doug Schoon's book has a great section explaining this- if you don't have his book yet, it is well worth the investment!
It can be prep (not properly for your brand), mix ratio (too wet leaves too much liquid to evaporate, causing the acrylic to shrink up and pop up in the middle), or damage (such as the client keeps bonking the end of her nail and over time the acrylic separates from the nail because of the trauma). There are more reasons but it has been a long week and I can't think anymore... LOL... Hope I helped.... Can someone tell me what causes air pockets? I mean big air pockets. Are some acrylics more prone to air pockets than others? Thanks!
