This happened to me with my credit card once. My credit card company called me
and said that there had been unauthorized charges attempted on my credit card.
A $1 charge, then a $5 charge then $5000 worth of airline tickets. They flagged
the card on the airline tickets and called me. They went over my charges with
me on the phone and removed the unauthorized charges, no cost to me, no waiting
for anything. They did not allow the airline charges to be charged to my card.
They handled the fraud very efficiently. I feel completely confident using my
credit card for all my purchases. If my credit card company had not handled the
fraud so well, i would have found a company who was better at preventing fraud.
US Bank is the credit card company that I'm so pleased with, incase anyone was
wondering.

I just got a call from my bank. A flag had popped up regarding my debit card.
Long story short...I checked my on line account and 4 Pre Auth charges came in
for $1, $1.09, $29.95 and $50. None of them were authorized/initiated by me!
The caller said often a charge for $1 will be attempted to see if the account
is accessible. All of the debits were made yesterday, on Sept. 15. I cancelled
my debit card and will pick up a new one tomorrow. Just thought I'd let ya'll
know!!
