OK...just read everyone's response as well as Veronica's problems.
Phew...you are all amazing at helping each other.
1) am sure it's soak off gel Veronica because we do not have orange
or black in our hard gel category. Just the runway collection
(pinks and reds) and the pastel gel collection. Also, we do not
have "base coat" in the hard gel category. It is a one gel system.
2) the pop up tunnel light is a 6 watt uv lamp. FAR FAR FAR too
low a uv wattage for anything with pigment in it. It was on
clearance because it's too low a wattage for basically anything but
UV Topcoat. You definitely need a 36 watt lamp for the Soak off Gels.
Use Lorraine's step by step for how to. Be sure to use our
finishing wipe as your dehydrator NOT a competitor. For sure, I've
tested some competitors dehydrators and it rejected.
Lastly....YES I have methods to most of my madness hahha.
(occasionally it's just the madness) I say in instructions 3 min
cure for colors. BUT I do that to protect clients from people that
do not change their bulbs. If you are a good little doobie and you
change your bulbs you have my blessing to do a 2 minute cure. I
only do 2 min cures. The gel is beautiful. Basecoat is still 30.
And if you use Lorraine's method with clear over top.... I'll even
grant you 1:30 on curing that. You'll have AMAZING shine.
Sorry I'm so slow catching up with you all. I'm only just back
from London and still off on my time zone. Lainey needs a
seriously long weekend to recover. I'm still off to Canada next
week. sniff sniff.

Lisa,
No the DVD does not show the scrubbing. That is something I stated
to do myself and found it really helped with the little bit of
shrink-back I was experiencing. The darker colors need to be REALLY
stirred up. Do not worry about bubbles, they will pop out as the
gel sits and pop when applied.
Has anyone tried 2 base coats on those with weaker/damaged nails?

I do see more problems with the clients that have weaker nails
also. My steps are what you have listed, but I have only one
comment. The Eco DVD does not show scrubbing on the base coat, nor
does it show thin coats. At least not what I consider to be thin
coats. When I use coats similar to what the DVD shows, that is
when I tend to have the rubbery, peeling off of the whole nail
color issue. Also when I use thin coats the color is not very
bold, expecially with the dark colors. I usually need 3 coats...JMHO

Ladies, not all nails are created equal :)
I have not had any issues with eco coming off like that but a
friend has. We adjusted her application and no more problems.
Immaculate and thorough prep is essential.
Lightly buff the shine off the plate
Cleanse with eco Wipe
Apply eco Base VERY thin - I have been using a scrubbing method of
application for the base
Cure 30 seconds in a 36w 4 bulb lamp
Apply 2 thin coats of the color, curing each layer 2-3 minutes
depending on if your lamp is new, bulbs are new and you wipe the
bulbs down weekly to keep them working at optimum output.
Top with eco Polish Sealer after removing the dispersion layer
--OR--
Leave the dispersion layer and top with eco Clear, cure for 2-3
more minutes then Wipe the dispersion layer off.
I have found less than healthy nails do have problems with these
soak off gels. I have also seen those being transitioned from
acrylics or hard gels experiencing problems - some chipping,
breakage - for the first 4-6 weeks. I have also had 2 people tell
me they had trouble with the base/color coats after using CND's
ScrubFresh for prep - something in there reacted adversely with the
gel.
If you cured it TOO long then you could experience issues. If you
applied the product too thick, you may see problems - mostly soak
off time increase as well as the coming off in one piece problem.
Longer is not always better - hahah that makes me think of that
disgusting commercial I hear all the time on the satellite radio
station.
We realize you all hate spending money where you don't have to, and
not buying the Wipe & Removal Solution will indeed save you money,
but long term it will cost you time working with other products and
time is money right?
Those of you experiencing problems, if your application varies from
this, let me know so I can help you trouble shoot!

I just got star nail gels and i cured them for the correct amount
of time plus some. Well to cut to the point the gel lifted
completely off my nail without peeling my nail ir chipping. It was
super flexable. Im not quite sure what happened. All of my nails
that have the gel polish are peeling, not chipping, PEELING like
rubber. Please help. I am supposed to be trying this out and I
dont know if it was something that i did wrong.
