The way I have done this is...I don't buff, apply protein bond or something 
wonderful, then two coats color and gel top. Your way might work as well. I 
have 
not tried Shellac over an ac nail, just Eco and Gelish and it worked. And like 
you it was just on one nail that had ac on it. 

I don't think you have to use clear tips but some say you do. I use natural or 
white tips with traditional gel and I have used them with Light Elegance 
soak-off and it stayed for several weeks until the nail grew out. I built the 
nail up a little so I could just file the color off each time.

Hi All!

I have a question about sog on acrylic...  I know it has been talked about but

can't find it in my folder.  My client has one nail that breaks at the free 
edge 
so she wanted acrylic on that nail.  I applied acrylic filed and buffed then 
put 
gel base, gel color and top coat.  It will stay right??  Putting sog's 
with tips...they need to be clear tips correct?
