It's the best option for now, atleast I can build a clientele and hopefully
began to make a career out of doing nails like I always wanted to. I take the
pratical exam on tomorrow...So I really excited and nervous... But mostly
excited. Then all I have to do is wait for the license to come in the mail.

The commission rate will go up with training and if I remember right it was
based on how much you cash you brought into the salon. I was also just starting
out but there was a few hair stylists who had nail clients I got tired of "not
be scheduled because a stylist had an nail appointment" that was bs I wasnt
going to sit around and not make any money because someone eles was using the
mani table.
Nails was my only income they had hair and nails I just got pissed off going in
and finding out 3 hrs of my day I wasnt making anything because the hair gals
had nail appointments. That is why I left.

some may think this is tacky or weird, but I go to the library and put my
cards in books that interest me, kinda like I checked out that book and left
my marker in it :) I have a few clients that had " found " my card and we have
lots of things in common LOL BBQ !

Good Luck no matter what you decide I am sure if you get your name out there
you will do just fine.

Did you have a problem with the commission rate or where you able to negotiate.

I have minx, a ton of powder and gel.
Thanks

When I first worked at a pennys they supplied all my disposable supplies, all I
needed was my implents(theirs sucked).
I would find out if they have a clientel already, and if they put an ad in the
local papers announcing you as an experianced teck and available. Have them
supply your cards also.
That's just a few things that come to mind. Good luck and I am sure you will do
well.
