I haven't tried OPI. They are to pricey for me. The pots are half the size of
Shellac and they are $20. I do love the designer colors though. If they came
out
with them I would have to cave in and buy them! I'll have to check out LaChat.
I
like the matching polish for toes or for a client to take with them on
vacation.
If they would break a nail, they could have it fixed and just repaint that one.
Great idea!

I totally love all the new soak off gels.  For variety OPI can't be beat but I
detest the pots.  Even so, I wish they would include the entire line of
Designer
Series colors in their selection.  For ease of use and removal I don't think
Creative's Shellac can be beat.  Wishing they would expand their line up of
colors!  The Jessica Gelation colors are exciting and are easy to apply.  Love
the big bottles.  I buy open stock from the local Asian Discount beauty
supply.
I have also tried the Nobility Perfect Match from LeChat.  very clever of them
to include the matching shade of polish and once again; love the big bottles.
Limited selection but very nice colors that apply and wear well.  Tried the
Gelac from IBD.  Colors are nice but a little transparent and thin.  The
product
tends to run.  The base is also very thin and loves to run into those
cuticles.
Not liking the base coat at all.  Does not seem to cure well; appears to dilute
the color.  Have  tried multiple lamps and increased cure time.  BUT, the top
coat is a winner - good consistancy and does NOT have to be filed or buffed off
before removal ( a shame it has a  3 minute cure time).  That is a huge time
saver to me; I do not want to spend more than 10 minutes soaking off.  Other
than Shellac I think it is the only one that soaks off without breaking the
seal
first.  Tried the ECO, liked the colors but hate the pots.  Tried the Gelez;
gotta love that Sin City red; I use it over just about everything to jazz up
other colors.  Tried Ocean; lots of colors but hate the pots.  Love the base
and
top because they are in large bottles but don't like the 3 minute cure times.
Best thing about them is that they work in a pinch with all products; but the
top coat must be filed off.  Tried the Gelish; loved the color selection and
large bottles.  Lousy brushes and had a tendency to be finicky.

I've tried LeChat's Perfect Match and it wears very well. I bought
"Emporer Red" and love it. My only complaint would be the limited
color selection......which brings to mind a question:

Is there a law or something that dictates nail companies can only
debut 12 colors at a time?????? Why not start with more? Why do the
majority of companies only start with 12?

I wanted to try Jessica's collection of uv polishes, but they required
that you buy a kit, which was more money than I wanted to put into
something I hadn't tried yet. They will not sell open stock until you
made your initial order of their kit. Guess I won't be trying them.

I can't speak for other companies, but with Shellac each color is created
chemically independent of the others. This means all 12 colors must be produced
and tested as individual products. It is not a matter of testing one product
and

then dumping pigment in several batches of it. Each color has to be produced on
its own with differing levels of photo initiators, etc. That would be my guess
as to the small numbers of colors released at a time. Hope it helps!
