Well, sometimes I think it its their way of saying pink and white. However, pink and white acrylic is available in all the cheapo brands that they use, also. It does soak off differently than their standard MMA nails and it doesn't yellow and is applied more thinly than the acrylic they normally use. I do believe it is a better(safer) product than they normally use, therefore justifying the additional cost. Don't be fooled into thinking the big nail companies are so loyal to us. CND, Premium, and other companies actually market to these NSS salons and they could very well be using Solar Nail. They say it is in an effort to "improve the industry" and keep these NSS salons from using MMA, which supposedly gives the whole industry a bad name. I think they are courting them because they are a huge presence in the industry and frankly, I feel a little slighted by it. When a client asks me about the magical, elusive Solar Nail, I say it was the first liquid and powder put out by Creative Nail Design in the late '70's, early 80s and since then they have come out with many new and improved products, which I use. Solar Nail is not such a big deal, but for "those" salons, it is a big deal that they are using a better product. I have always used good products, just don't advertise it like it's a bfd. It's a joke. and the consumers don't know the difference and frankly, I get tired of trying to educate them.. sorry, cynical?
