Sherri,
Let me know if you continue to have problems with the eco Soak Off UV

I know the shine is fantastic on the new Universal top coats!

I know, that's why I said I'd try it again. I've been putting the
base on so thing it's almost not there.
BTW, I got the 2.50's oz. eco universal uv/led top coat today and I
LOOOOVE it! Totally rocks! I used it with both lights and it's fantastic.

Sherri,
Shrinkage is almost a direct result of the base and or colors being
too thick. I just answered this in depth in the BT forums, if you
don't mind, would you go read there and let me know if that all helps?

The post I was actually looking for was right here on the google list!
Shrinkage is usually the end result of too much base coat.
If you are using a polish bottle brand I might suggest you use a
regular gel brush to apply your base. The reasoning is too much base
= too much dispersion layer. The color layers now "float" around on
the base dispersion layer causing it to shrink back like that.
Here is what I do with much success:
Pick up a small amount of base on my gel brush, tap it to 3-5 nails.
Spread the base in a circular motion, almost as if you are scrubbing
it in. When the nail is covered, pull down, cuticle to free edge,
almost wiping it all off. You should feel some resistance. Cure the
proper amount of time for the product. Remember that the base
usually cures a different amount of time than the color layers.
If you continue to have shrinkage issues, you might be applying the
colors too thick.
Another trick you can try is, after curing your base, use a dry wipe
and remove SOME of the dispersion layer. Lastly, you can try
removing the dispersion layer and taking a very light buff with a
white block which I belive should be a 280 grit? maybe finer, by
brain is not working tonight!
If your brand requires capping the free edge (not all do) then make
sure you do so. You might also want to freeze the nails after 2
nails, then a full cure after you have them all coated.
When applying over a hard/soak-off gel or acrylic, as Rhonda said,
no you do not have to use base. If over gel, remove the dispersion,
lightly buff and apply your gel polish color. If over acrylic do
your finish filing, remove the dust and continue with your gel polish color.

Lorraine, uo tried the eco when it first came out and didn't really
care for the colors or how it applied-I had a LOT of shrinkage,
however, it could have just been a learning curve issue firgot
me. I still have the kit I originally purchased so I'll try it again.

I think that the new IBD Just Gel line is a LED line. I saw it in
Nailpro magazine.
That is correct. Apparently all the AII lines (ibd, EZFlow and
SuperNail) gel+solvent lines have been pulled from the market and
now were reintroduced as non-solvent lines. I really have no idea
why except I read posts from many techs that they were having a
great deal of difficulty with all of them.
Sherri, have you tried Eco Soak Off UV Nail Color? You can request a
free sample at the web site. It is a gel+pigment mix in a pot, UV
lamp cured. It wears well, and you can mix or layer the color 50
colors to your hearts content!

I noticed in my last nails or nailpro IBD is offering a new "just
gel" in a bottle. They already had a gel polish in a bottle. I
think everybody and their brother has some version or another of
gel polish or hybrid or whatever they want to call it. I've tried
Shellac, Gelish and the one from Naillite and so far Gelish is my
favorite although some of the colors are really sheer and need 3
coats. I really want to try the OPI gel in a bottle but I can't
find a distributor. The two local stores keep telling me it's
coming but can't tell me when.

I use a very fine buffer, like what you would use for a manicure,
nothing harsher. Doesn't need any etching. It does soak off faster
if you file the gloss layer first. And boy oh boy it is glossy! :)
PS - I just read that Cuccio has a solvent free gel polish now too.
Seems the word has gotten out...

Does it soak off about the same way as Gelish? Timewise and
breaking the seal before soaking? Thanks for all your info.
