I'd make an appointment with a dermatologist with quickness because it
could be something much worse, like melanoma, or some sign of another
internal disease or disorder. And then again, it could be something
like trauma to the nail that she doesn't remember happening. But it's
always better to be safe than sorry.....the obituaries are full of
people who didn't go to a doctor when they found something suspicious
because they thought that "it'll go away".

Either way, it's a good idea to take her nail enhancements off till
this gets remedied, especially with nail separation.
