I don't say a word...I just quietly put down whatever I'm doing....and sit
and smile. When they say, "Oh...it's OK...go ahead," I just smile and
shake my head...as if I don't want to disturb their conversation. When they
get off and say, "Oh you could have gone ahead," I say, "Oh...no...that's
OK! I have a system and that was obviously important!" (still...trying to
make nice...) They usually get it by then. I have only had one person who
continued to instruct me that I was to continue...that it wouldn't be
disturbing her....and I had to finally say, "Well...I work in sets of
10....and it's really hard to continue if I can't have access to both hands
when I need them!" (with a smiling laugh). She got it too...was just
thinking that she would school me. But....I never had to wait on her again!
Hope this helps! :-/

Subject: NailTech:: clients and cellphones
People everywhere I go are answering their phones, talking loud and holding
up others with this behavior. I love my clients and they aren't rude people
but they are behaving this way also while I am trying to do their nails. I
had a client the other day that had me stop working, find a phonebook, look
up her dentist number (which she would of looked up herself but I didnt want
her to mess up her gels) so she could cancel her appt for the next day. Then
her car dealer calls her to discuss the purchase of her new cadilac and she
has to hold her phone with her hand while the other one is in the lamp. Have
to wait the two minutes then start working on that hand. now my system is
off and I will have to wait on the other hand too!! This crap is getting
old. This is my fault for letting it happen, I just needed to vent. Thanks
for reading! Now I need to figure out how to handle this without offending
most of my clients. It use to not be that big of a deal, but lately
everyone's phones are ringing more and everyone thinks nail time now is time
to take care of their business.
