Getty Images is one of the biggest companies that provides images of all major events, red carpets, etc. as well as more generic images, for use for a fee. It is a legitimate company.
Just make sure it truly is Getty sending that email. I get emails all the time from "paypal" and "american express" saying I've done something wrong with my account and have to send money. That is a scam that's using a legitimate company—albeit often from an aol address. So call Getty to verify--or have your lawyer do it.
