I use a wax remover that is citrus based....orange oil, usually.  You can 
usually purchase it at any professional beauty supply. The one I use is called 
Zestasol.  Alcohol will also usually break down waxes...but not as fast as 
orange oil.  The orange oil might be harsh on your skin...so wear gloves and 
know that you'll need to change them often, as the orange oil will eat through 
some rubbers/plastics.
