Michelle, 
Take a hot iron and place a dry paper towel over the wax. Iron over the wax. 
Keep moving the paper towel. Depending on how much is on the material, you may 
need more than one paper towel. 
I am the messiest waxed and this does the trick for me all the time. I have 
gotten wax on my clothes and my carpet.
