Hi Kelley! Congrats on your new venture!!! If you have your rent price per
month, does this mean you have already found a location? Was it a salon
already? That is always the most economical way togo, If not, work a build out
allowance into your lease agreement. I suggest you put it all down on paper
too. Your marketing plan is essential! It's your heartbeat that keeps
everything pumping... Get your costs of doing business, together so you can
understand exactly how much income that you need to generate to keep the doors
open. And every item that you will need to operate and put a price to it. It
will all make sense when you see it on paper! Ask away if I can help you more!!!

Subject: NailTech:: Opening a salon
Date: Tue, Jun 18, 2013 7:17 pm

Hi ladies,
I have a few questions for you.

I am thinking of opening a small salon. I am wondering if you could give me a
figure of what it would cost?
I know each area is different, but I am not sure of how much start up I may
need. i do not want to be closed in 6 ms due to my poor planing.
I am a licensed manicurist, and have a possible partner. Who is a cosmetologist
, only about a year out of cos.
she has a small place of her own and a dad who is literally buying anything
she wants. ( I have told her to stop buying everything there are things she may
never use, she has 3 led/ uv lamps. I have been doing nails 14 yrs and only
have 4 !)
So that said,

We pay 800 together a month , have 2 of everything mani tables, pedi chairs (
ironically the same one she just fitted hers with a sink )
Two hair stations and so on.

So to rent a space1500$ a month ,build it out, insurance, back bar and retail
,advertising , utility's and cash in bank to make things go smoothly. I am also
not sure how long it would take to set up, so you figure one month rent just to
build?

Any suggestions you have would be appreciated

Thank you Kelley
