I have also had a large number of people come in with gel polish of unknown
origin on their nails. Sometimes it takes 50 min to remove safely and then the
client complains about the $10 fee to remove it. One woman went so far as to
complain on yelp about it. Because we nail techs are not entitled to be
reimbursed for our time or supplies (in her mind). I charge $5-$10 for removal
of gel polish on mystery nails. If I have to file it down in any way to remove
it I charge the $10. If it is Shellac I charge $5
