I've never received a bad compliment. I think this one tastes just like the Hostess apple pie. Dutch Apple Pie 2 c. all purpose flour 1 c. packed brown sugar 3/4 c. butter melted 1/2 c. quick-cooking oats Filling: 1 c. water 2/3 c. sugar 3 TBS cornstarch 1 1/4 c. diced peeled tart apples (3 large granny smith) 1 tsp vanilla (don't be afraid to let the vanilla run over) Combine the first four ingredients; set aside 1 c. for topping. Press remaining crumb mixture into an ungreased 9-inch pie plate; set aside. For the filling, combine sugar, cornstarch, and water in a saucepan until smooth; bring to a boil. Cook and stir for 1 minute, or until thickened. Remove from the heat; stir in apples and vanilla. Pour into crust; top with the reserved crumb mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes.
