I only repeated what I saw on the link. Trying to not toss too much confusion
into the fray. I am just looking for a way to get younger new members into the
org. They always have little money and no employer to pay for them. I knew
some part time students that were doing CS while working to support their
family and they wanted a way to show potential future employers they are
working harder than the 'other guy' to bust into the industry and get a good
job. I just hope NewNOG can support that. College is tough. It seems like we
would want to get these folks in early and have them stick around throughout
their careers. The money lost to the discount will come back into the org in
the long run.

ps. do the initial members get a cool cert showing us as OGs? :-)
