Here we are carrying related data in the same place. And, in the long run, the authentication information will become just as integral a piece of BGP as the NLRI are. Even you don't get to complain about data duplication and protocol "overloading" in the same day. Make up your mind. All protocols MUST have some redundancy. You want it in one place?
