I think thats ok as there should be a clear seperation between properties that are just used for substitution in the config file and those that are to be injected into the property space of build files.

were framework neutral properties just for the config file or were they added to build files also ? I've forgeotten :)

I'd be happy to move support for global properties back in though (I should
indeed have discussed this first) ...

Really? Why, this was very useful. I manage a build server for multiple
projects and I could expose information such as the path to the CVS
executable easily this way.

Has another facility been created to replace this?

I am using the 0.85 build from 24 May.

I tried setting some global properties in the nAnt.exe.Config file and
