I think thats ok as there should be a clear seperation between properties that are just used for substitution in the config file and those that are to be injected into the property space of build files.I think I removed it as it might confuse users. Users might think that we offer the true property task syntax for these global properties, as we do support this now on the framework level (because we use an actual NAnt project there).
Also, you can no longer use any of these global properties to replace macro's in the framework nodes (as only the framework properties that are set using the framework projects can be used for that purpose) ...
were framework neutral properties just for the config file or were they added to build files also ? I've forgeotten :)I know I also had to remove support for framework neutral properties, as we now use separate projects for each framework ...
I'd be happy to move support for global properties back in though (I should indeed have discussed this first) ...
Hey - its hard to discuss *every* change. Ian

Really? Why, this was very useful. I manage a build server for multiple projects and I could expose information such as the path to the CVS executable easily this way.
Has another facility been created to replace this?

I am using the 0.85 build from 24 May.
I tried setting some global properties in the nAnt.exe.Config file and
they
were not propagated to the build.
This worked fine in 0.84. Anyone else run into this?
