There was a temporary regression which is now fixed and not reproducible either in 8u-dev or 9. Octane raytrace and pdfjs couldn’t run with optimistic types disabled.
I have verified that this is no longer a problem and ensured that optimistic types really were disabled/enabled in the different configurations. When doing so, I noticed that the logging that should tell us if this is the case is missing, and there were also some other cosmetic problems with the compiler log.
