Online inputs will contribute to the review and appraisal of Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action and the Outcome of the twenty-third Special Session of the General Assembly (2000) [Beijing +5], to be undertaken by the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women during its forty-ninth session from 28 February to 11 March 2005. UN Official Document System Now Publicly Available Online The UN's Official Document System, a vast repository of official documentation -- including over 800,000 reports, resolutions and summaries of the meetings of the main UN bodies -- is now freely and publicly available online at http://documents.un.org. The ODS is a tremendous resource for civil society groups around the world, as well as for students, researchers and activists. More Tsunami Relief Information Adina has sent us another list of relief organizations working to assist victims of the devastating tsunamis that struck Asia in December, with links to both regional and international organizations. The United Nations has established a Tsunami news site with links to the monitoring, relief and recovery work of various UN agencies. In addition, the UN is sponsoring a "World Conference on Disaster Reduction" in Kobe, Japan from 18-22 January with two sessions devoted just to tsunamis. WSIS Prepcom II, 17-25 February, Geneva The Second Preparatory Committee of the World Summit on the Information Society will take place from 17-25 February at the Palais des Nations in Geneva. CONGO member organizations who did not register in time for the meeting can still send representatives if they communicate those names to the CONGO secretariat very soon.
