The Forum on Privatization and the Public Domain, a project of the Sage 
Centre in Vancouver, is very pleased to announce that its website is now 
up and running. One of goals of the Forum is to create a public voice on 
the issues raised by the relentless expansion of what are considered to 
be patentable products, processes, discoveries, inventions and 
appropriated goods, or what is commonly referred to as intellectual 
property.

"Patenting lives" is a research project hosted by the Queen Mary 
Intellectual Property Research Institute, University of London. It 
gathers together interdisciplinary experts to consider intellectual 
property protections and restrictions on life forms, and particularly
