It is with frustration I post this message. I have been friends for over three years
with a young woman with 4 very small children, abandoned by her husband last
year(since divorced in tribal court) living here in Michigan for at least 5 years who
is giving up and going back to her rez where there is nothing but her family to take
her in. She is getting medicaid and food stamps but cannot find child care and must
quit working constantly. She has ambition to improve her life but cannot get the help
she needs. Can anyone come up with any ideas to help her? In this state---we have
slammed the door on these cases that really need welfare. She must work but without
childcare she can't. Does anyone think that contacting the Indian Commission might
