Another Day, Another Body

For the second day in a row, a dead man was discovered near Rapid Creek
in Rapid
City. This time an unidentified man in his 30s was discovered floating
face down in the
creek in an area that police and residents say is frequented by
homeless people. An
autopsy is scheduled for Thursday morning to determine the cause of
death, and
authorities will not speculate if alcohol could have been a factor.
Meanwhile, the identity of the man found dead yesterday under the East
North bridge
has been released. Police say that 48 year old Randelle Two Crow had
been drinking
heavily prior to his demise, and witnesses have come forward confirming
that alcohol
was a factor in the death.

Rapid City police found the body of a 48 year old man under the East
North Street
bridge in Rapid City on Tuesday. Investigators are interviewing
potential witnesses and
looking into the circumstances of the man's death, though foul play is
not suspected at
this time. The area where the body was found is frequented by homeless
people and
some even live there. Police will not speculate on the cause of death
pending the
outcome of an autopsy, but they did tell Fox 7 that the man was not
found in the water
beneath the bridge so it appears he did not drown.

SUICIDE

Corrections officials say two recent suicide attempts at the state
penitentiary do not
indicate a growing problem at the prison. With the attempts last week,
the number of
inmates who have tried to kill themselves increased to seven in the
last five months. But
state corrections secretary Jeff Bloomberg says the numbers don't
indicate an increase
    in suicide behavior among inmates.

A second teenager has been arrested in connection with the murder of 26
year old
Royce Yellow Hawk last week in a Rapid City alley. 16 year old Ralph
Larvy was in a
Rapid City courtroom Thursday morning to face charges of first degree
murder,
alternative second degree murder, or accessory to murder. Yellow Hawk
was struck
by 4 bullets following an altercation at a party and Dustin Seegrist
was arrested last
week. Both teens remain in custody and are to be tried as adults.
Prosecutors have not
ruled out seeking the death penalty in the case. Even though two
suspects are in
custody, police tell Fox 7 that the investigation into the shooting is
ongoing.

Dustin Seegrist, a 16 year old Rapid City boy, was charged with 1st
degree murder on
Friday in a Rapid City courtroom. He is accused of shooting 26 year old
Royce
Yellow Hawk in a Rapid City alley early on Thursday morning. Yellow
Hawk was
found dead with 4 gunshot wounds to the torso. Police tell Fox 7 that
some evidence
suggests the incident may have began as a fist fight, but then the
situation escalated. The
State's Attorney office is considering whether or not to ask for the
death penalty in the
case, and a preliminary hearing is expected in the next 10 days.
Seegrist denies the
charges and has asked to speak with a lawyer.
