Just could resist sending this...great news from the BIA
(-sarcasm-) We've given the cat another canary. The old BIA land shell
game...now done bigger and better and faster...electronically.

Let's see that's one acre for the Indians and two for the
government and then another acre for the Indians and three for the
governement.

What do you mean the "reservation land used to be
larger"?...why...the BIA records show...

Just because this is the gang that "lost " 5 billion of Indian
trust money doesn't mean they shouldn't get another whack at screwing
things up again...does it?

Indian land records will be reorganized

WASHINGTON - Keeping track of who owns what on Indian lands should become
easier with a new information system that is expected to modernize land
management.

Billings has been chosen to be the pilot site for the program, which will
benefit 10 tribes in southern Montana and Wyoming. The site is expected to
open this summer.

"The benefits are tremendous," said Dom Nessi, project manager. "Much
quicker processing, better control on land records, better accounting
procedures, in general this will serve the Indian land owner much better."

The project is an initiative of the Bureau of Indian Affairs. The agency is
responsible for accounting for the land, allowing for its best use, and
distributing income to its beneficiary owners.
