Subject: Re: Racial Profiling
Although most of us know what racial profiling is I hate to assume that
everyone does and so here is a brief explanation: it is when a local
government
decides that particular groups of people do not fit the overall-everyday
profile of the people living in their particular area and so these minority
people are stopped by the police for no other reason than the color of their
skin.
New Jersey is one such entity that subscribes to the racial profiling
mentality. Last week on Dateline it was reported that 75% of traffic
citations
issued were issued to minority people. In order of popularity on New Jersey
highways and streets: blacks (62%) and American Indians and Latinos (13%).
